Surrounded by a herd of giraffe whilst on safari, the artist sat enchanted as these gentle animals silently wandered around, picking off tasty morsels from the surrounding vegetation. This baby is a reticulated giraffe, which giraffe spotters will recognise from the coat of coloured polygons. All giraffes develop horns which are properly known as ossicones.
